Access control is the method of determining who or what can access or leave an area and when. This is the basis of an effective access control system

Advantages of Access Control

By applying the appropriate level of access control for each person and door, you can enhance security and convenience. Think about the following factors when choosing access control measures:

  • Does everyone have access to everywhere or do some people need to be restricted within certain boundaries?
  • Control access to vehicles, machines, tools, and areas of special significance.
  • Time matters. Should people or machines be in a specific location at a specific time, or should this be limited?
  • Consider the kind of access control system and how it can be improved through insights such as average check-in time and violations due to swapping access tokens

Types of Access Control Systems

There are two main kinds of access control systems: PC-based and standalone.

PC-based systems enable control of one or more doors from one server. They offer features such as readers for codes and tokens, long-range readers and tokens, remote or local programming, easy future growth, and a constant audit trail.

Standalone systems control one or many independent doors. All components are within the reader, and they offer features such as readers for codes and tokens and local programming. They are best suited to small sites.

We also offer door entry systems, which allow you to identify and monitor visitors by talking to them or seeing their image on a screen and then giving access by unlocking the door from inside the building. We install, maintain, and repair a large variety of audio and video systems from most major brand names, however Paxton is our preferred systems for deployment.

Paxton Systems

Entry: Paxton Entry systems can work as part of Paxton10 access control and video management or alongside Net2. They offer features such as visitor recognition, concierge management, Session Initiation Protocol compatibility, and video voicemails.

Paxton10: Paxton10 combines next-generation access control, CCTV, and entry management on one user-friendly online interface. It offers features such as simple management of all systems on the same interface, up to 1000 doors and 1000 cameras on the same system, fire and intruder alarm integration, Bluetooth smart credentials, and multi-format readers.

Net2: Net2 is designed for simple management of networked access control. It offers features such as door entry and wireless handles, event reporting, an audit trail, wireless or wired door controllers, and the option to upgrade to Net2 Pro for more advanced access control.
